With the leader Mal vanquished and many of his men dead and strewn along with the champions of the Fianna, Aoife left Luideagh’s son for a time, and lamented for all those lost to the battles of gone by, and the battles to come. Her tears are a swansong, echoing through the ages on the hills of Ireland.
