Well!!! It’s been a long time coming, and not without trying in the past. But Cork will finally get to witness the excellent STEREO NASTY live and in the flesh. The band literally took off right from the get-go with when they first released the ‘Under Her Spell’ demo track back in early 2014. It was instantly apparent that they were onto something special and by the time their debut album “Nasty By Nature” came out the following year, the band were already in demand and on their way to festival appearances and high profile support slots at home and abroad.
  • – Who’s in the band?
  • Mick Mahon (Vocals)
    Adrian Foley (Guitars)
    Derek ‘Rud’ Holohan (Bass)
    Fran Moran (Drums)
Stereo Nasty
  • – Where are you from and how did you get together?

The Kildare/Carlow based outfit came about through a mutual love of eighties heavy metal. Both Adrian Foley and Mick Mahon were previously in female fronted Alt Rock outfit THE JIGSAW MURDERS, on guitars and bass respectively. But the duo often jammed together through late night sessions playing PRIEST, WASP and ACCEPT covers. Eventually the two lads came together and made a demo that was instantly embraced by all in the Irish metal community. The success and interest from those initial demo tracks led to them getting a bassist and drummer on board and bring STEREO NASTY to the live audience!

  • – What can gig goers expect from you?

People can expect high energy, old school heavy metal with big riffs and big choruses. Plenty of attitude, plenty of riffs and plenty of sing a long choruses. This is their debut gig in Cork, believe it or not, and the band are as excited to play here as people are to see them.

  • – Accomplishments to date!

Debut album, ‘Nasty By Nature’, has sold out and received nothing but positive reviews. Playing festivals as varied as Old Grave Fest in Romania, Metal Magic in Denmark and Ireland’s own Siege Of Limerick. Touring with ARGUS was also a major feather in the cap for the band. They have also played support to a lot of their heroes, most recently DIAMOND HEAD Head in Limerick and Dublin.

  • – Who are you looking forward to seeing/playing with?

“It’s such a great line up I’m just looking forward to enjoying the day.”

  • – Plans for 2017 and beyond?

“We’re going to start recording our second album in March with an August/September release being the target. Right now we’re making plans for going to Europe this year.”
