I caught wind of the shitty news last night that Dublin based Melodic/Technical Death Metallers DICHOTOMY have decided to call it a day. Here’s the official statement from the band posted on their facebook page yesterday evening, 25th Feb 2015…

“We are sorry to say that Dichotomy is no more.

Due to many personal reasons we no longer have the time to dedicate to the band. We where always turning down great gig opportunities for this reason. Unfortunately at this moment in our lives its not possible to put so much time into writing a second album and gig as much as we would like to.

A big appreciation to all our Past members, Promoters, Engineers, Designers, Practice and recording studios who have helped us.

Most of all, a massive genuine thank you to all the people who spent their hard earned cash on our merchandise, album and live shows.

Dichotomy”

====================================

The band was formed in 2010 by guitarists Andy Kealy & Steven ‘Rats’ Rahaman with a mind to combine the technicality of death metal with the groove and musicality of other genres. They were soon joined by Kev O’Connor (vocals) and Dave Fay (drums), and began writing material under the name DICHOTOMY to suitably describe the contrasting styles used in the music. Playing in the Irish underground scene, the material instantly made its’ mark. The arrival of bassist Neil Coburn in 2013 completed the line-up.

DICHOTOMY’s incredible debut album entitled “Paradigms” was recorded in the esteemed Westland Studios in Dublin in Summer 2012 and released in 2013.
